Parking Updates for 2025-2026

Parking:
- Student Commuter Parking Zone pilot begins Fall 2025, designed to reduce congestion and improve parking availability near academic buildings during the busiest parts of the day. Student commuters will now select a parking zone—South, East, or West—when purchasing a General permit. Each student will park in their assigned zone during peak hours (7:00 AM-1:00 PM). - Lot 56 has been permanently closed to support a research space used by the Civil Engineering Department.
- Parking Rate Increase: Parking rates will increase to address lasting impacts and service opportunities post-pandemic, including $2 per month for general permits.
- City of Arlington Municipal Court has temporarily moved into the former School of Social Work Building. They will be using lot F15 exclusively until renovations are completed at their building, expected October 2025.
Construction:
- Lot 52 will be closed for resurfacing and repairs beginning 7/30. This lot will be reopened by 8/13, weather permitting.
- W. 3rd St & W. 4th St. will be closed between Spaniolo Dr. and West St. for repairs and will be reopened by 8/18, weather permitting.
- South West St. remains closed to vehicle traffic between Doug Russell Rd. and West Mitchell to support pedestrian safety.
- Lot 35 remains closed for use to support Maverick Hall construction.
- Lot 38 will close for construction of the University Center remodel December 2025, reopening in Summer 2028.
transportation:
- Shuttle Stop Moved: The lot 49 shuttle stop has been relocated to the south end of lot 52 on Doug Russell Rd. This stop was previously located on S. West St. between lots 49 & 52.
